Upgrades to the sewage lagoon will begin this month with completion scheduled for March 2023. The water treatment plant has a project completion date of November 2024.
There are proposed amendments to Moose Cree First Nation's agreement with the owners of the Detour Lake Mine. Community consultation sessions about the proposed amendments will be held in the coming weeks.
Given the rapid increase in positive COVID-19 cases in the community, Moose Cree First Nation’s Moose Factory offices will be closed to the public until Friday, February 18th, 2022 @ 5 pm.
I know that many of us are tired of the pandemic and the restrictions that have been in place for so long, however we must all continue to be careful and think of the vulnerable in our community.
The rapidly spreading cases are a result of community members continuing to gather without safety measures in place, therefore such non-essential gatherings must cease immediately. In effect until March 4, 2022.
There may have been a high risk exposure of COVID-19 in our community. Our Moose Factory offices will be closed as a precaution from January 31st to February 4th, 2022.
Ontario Power Generation is advising that the roadway crossing for Otter Rapids Dam will be closed February 2nd and 3rd from 7am to 5 pm daily. Wetum Road access to Smooth Rock Falls will NOT be affected.
