Addressing Public Safety Concerns

Moose Cree First Nation is committed to the public safety of our community regarding the animal control Issues we are currently facing. To address these growing concerns, actions will be taken immediately to take control of the situation and provide support going forward.

Public Safety Notice

In an attempt to address the loose dog situation in our community, the following directive will be implemented immediately: All loose dogs will be captured and owners will be responsible to pay the release fee to claim their pet. Failure to do so will result in rehoming in the south.

5-IN-1 Dog Vaccine Clinic

The Moose Factory Dog Program is holding a 5-IN-1 vaccine clinic. Protect against Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. December 10th and 11th, 2022. Register online.

Canine Parvovirus Outbreak in Moose Factory

There is a canine parvovirus outbreak in Moose Factory with over 20 confirmed cases so far. The Moose Factory Dog Control Program urges dog owners to keep their dogs inside or tied up in the yard to help slow the spread of the virus.

Parvovirus in Dogs

The Moose Factory Dog Program has become aware of two recent dog deaths due to parvovirus. This virus is deadly to unvaccinated dogs and especially pups.
