Treaty Land Entitlement Claim

Moose Cree First Nation has demonstrated that the First Nation was shortchanged 12.65 square miles of reserve land when Treaty No. 9 was signed in 1905. Both Canada and Ontario have acknowledged this mistake and have agreed to negotiate a Treaty Land Entitlement (TLE) Agreement with MCFN.

We have identified several potential sites that would be beneficial to the First Nation if added to the reserve. We are currently in the process of gathering input from the Moose Cree Membership before creating a finalized list of land sites.
