Due to a combination of warm weather, heavy snowfall in the forecast, and a safety issue on the south end of the road, the Wetum Road will remain closed until further notice.

Road construction is nearing completion. Projected opening date is Saturday, January 28th, 2023 @ 8 am.

The Wetum Road closes for the season on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022 @ 8 am.
March 15, 2022
Due to the warmer weather forecasted, the Wetum Road will be closed from 8am to 8pm daily from March 16th-20th to ensure the road surface remains useable for as long as possible.
January 31, 2022
Ontario Power Generation is advising that the roadway crossing for Otter Rapids Dam will be closed February 2nd and 3rd from 7am to 5 pm daily. Wetum Road access to Smooth Rock Falls will NOT be affected.
