MCFN has hired two environmental monitors to monitor NioBay’s activities on our Homeland. Chief & Council have also directed NioBay to take a pause on their proposed winter exploratory drilling program.
Later this month, NioBay will begin an early exploration drilling program near South Bluff Creek. Moose Cree First Nation has signed a new Protection Agreement with NioBay to govern that drilling program.

Chief and Council are pleased to announce the signing of a Protection Agreement with NioBay Metals Inc. regarding NioBay’s early exploration project in the South Bluff Creek area.
NioBay received a permit in January 2019 to drill 8 test holes in the MCFN Homeland near South Bluff Creek. They are now only seeking to drill 7 holes.
Chief and Council are inviting community members to an information session on December 16th, 2019 for a discussion of Niobay Metals’ early exploration project.
