We as a community have suffered a number of losses over the past few months. Chief & Council wish to reaffirm the importance of family togetherness, particularly during the Christmas season.
There will be a Special Membership Meeting on Monday, January 6th, 2020 regarding health care issues and the health care services provided by Weeneebayko General Hospital.
NioBay received a permit in January 2019 to drill 8 test holes in the MCFN Homeland near South Bluff Creek. They are now only seeking to drill 7 holes.
Chief and Council are inviting community members to an information session on December 16th, 2019 for a discussion of Niobay Metals’ early exploration project.
Monday, November 18th, 2019. This session will be hosted by Chief & Council and is an opportunity for the Membership to receive information and ask questions about the proposed NioBay mine.
As directed by Membership, the Chief & Council of Moose Cree First Nation have had an environmental study conducted with respect to the NioBay mineral exploration project.
October 29, 2019. As directed by the Membership, the Chief & Council have begun developing a BCR on banishing band members involved in the illegal alcohol and drugs trade in the community.
Saturday, July 27th, 2019 is significant for Moose Cree First Nation as an Oath of Office Ceremony was held in which Chief Mervin Cheechoo, Deputy Chief Earl Cheechoo, and ten of the fourteen Councillors were sworn in for the 2019-2023 term.
Moose Cree First Nation members are invited to attend the Oath of Office ceremony for the Chief, Deputy Chief, and Councillors for the 2019 – 2023 term.
