December 16, 2021

Council and I have been made aware of a YouTube video that you may have seen circulating on social media regarding Moose Cree First Nation’s position on Niobay and their exploration activities. The information in the video is inaccurate. I encourage Moose Cree members to refer to my report to Membership that was included in the November 18, 2021 Membership Meeting package for the most up to date and accurate information on the situation with Niobay. We have stated many times, there are no plans for a Niobay mine in the Moose Cree Homeland. Council and I remain focused on protecting the rights of our First Nation and we will continue to do so.

Since this Council was elected to office in July 2019, we have made it a priority to keep Membership informed by providing regular updates and we will continue to provide updates going forward.  We have organized many virtual community information sessions on the situation with Niobay and other important matters. Council and I will continue to make every effort to keep Membership informed on this issue as well as other important matters impacting our First Nation.
