Water Discolouration Notice

Affected Area: Moose Factory Island

The Ontario Clean Water Agency would like to advise residents that they may experience some water discolouration caused from naturally occurring sediment in the distribution system being stirred up from using the fire pumps during the night.

If the water is discoloured and/or cloudy, turn on a cold water tap and let the water run for a few minutes. Do not choose a tap that has a water filter connected to it, or the sediment may clog your filter. Do not use a hot water tap because it could draw sediment into your hot water tank. If the water doesn’t clear in 5 minutes, wait 10 minutes and try again.

If the problem persists, contact the water plant at (705) 658 2034.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Kind regards,
Ontario Clean Water Agency
