December 24, 2021Consultation and Ratification Process
Moose Cree First Nation Members,
Chief & Council passed a Band Council Resolution on September 17th, 2021 resolving to proceed with the community consultation and ratification process for the proposed Amended and Restated Detour Agreement (the “Amended Detour Agreement”).
The purpose of this Notice is to give you an update about the upcoming community engagement plan.
Accessing the Plainspeak Document
The proposed Amended Detour Agreement includes many additional benefits to Moose Cree First Nation, which our West Detour Negotiating Committee worked very hard to secure. A Plainspeak outlining the key changes within the Amended Detour Agreement has now been posted to the Membership Area of the MCFN website.
You can log into your account or register for an account if you don’t yet have one. Please note account verification may take up to 24 hours.
Paper copies of the Plainspeak will be circulated to Moose Cree households in the New Year.
Community Engagement Sessions
Community engagement sessions will take place in the New Year. These sessions will be held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. Given the uncertainty this new outbreak has caused, the community engagement schedule has yet to be confirmed. However, we will notify you of the details as soon as they are finalized.
We highly encourage all Moose Cree members to attend a virtual session so you can learn more about the Amended Detour Agreement, ask any questions you have, and make an informed decision in the upcoming ratification vote.
We will continue to keep you informed of any necessary changes to this plan that may be caused by the ongoing outbreak of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.
