EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

For qualified candidates interested in serving on the Moose Cree First Nation (MCFN) Trust Fund

The MCFN has established a Trust Fund and is seeking three (3) trustees.

These three (3) Trustees will serve with a trustee representative of Chief & Council along with a Corporate Trustee.

The MCFN Trust requires individuals with diverse skill sets and a passion to contribute to the prosperity of the Nation to guide and oversee what will become a multimillion-dollar fund. Potential trustees should be responsible, of good moral character and have some experience directing and overseeing projects and initiatives. Legal and/or financial experience is considered an asset.

CRITERIA

The following are the minimum requirements for potential trustees as set out in Section 5.1 of the MCFN Trust Agreement:

Section 5.1 The Trustees

  • Any individual is qualified to serve as a Trustee (other than as the Corporate Trustee) provided he or she:
  • Is not an undischarged bankrupt;
  • Has not been convicted of an indictable offence involving trust property, theft, dishonesty, fraud or the exercise of his or her responsibilities as a trustee;
  • Is at least 18 years of age;
  • Resident of Canada; and,
  • Has not been found liable by a civil court of breach of trust.

NEXT STEPS

A Selection Committee has been appointed by Chief & Council to receive and review all information submitted by interested candidates.

Potential candidates for a position of Trustee shall provide the following information to the Selection Committee:

  • A letter outlining why you are interested in serving on the MCFN Trust, along with a detailed resume.
  • Proof of application for a CPIC or a satisfactory CPIC within the last six (6) months.
  • Names and phone numbers of three references, two character and one professional.

The information submitted will be reviewed by the Selection Committee and those screened in for further review will be invited to an interview, which will be conducted either in-person or a virtual format.
