Community-Based Land-Use Planning Focus Group Sessions
Nikanawelihtenan askiy “we look after the land”

The Moose Cree Land-Use Plan will be a community process to plan for the way the land will be used in the future. It will be based on Moose Cree’s traditional relationship with the land.

We are looking for community members to start the process by participating in focus groups. These focus groups will guide the planning process.

The natural environment of our Homeland is responsible for the growth of our Cree culture and traditions. Without our natural environment, our culture and traditions will become extinct. With the guidance of the creator, and our Cree grandmothers, grandfathers, and ancestors who lived in harmony with the natural environment, we must protect our Homelands to ensure cultural integrity while reflecting sustainable economic development within our territory.

Your input and participation is vital to land-use planning.
