International Women’s Day – March 8th

Today is International Women’s Day. This is a day marked locally but also across Canada and the world. We thank our gookums, mothers, sisters, daughters, aunties, nieces and our partners for their love, strength, and wisdom that guide and sustain us throughout our lives.

We acknowledge that we rely on women in our workplaces and on our Council, we thank and honour these women for their tremendous contributions towards improving the lives of the Membership and in keeping Moose Cree First Nation on its path forward into the future.

We are all fortunate to have strong, confident women leading the work of the Pandemic Emergency Operations Team, it is they who have been guiding us through the pandemic and it is their dedication and tireless efforts that have kept our community safe over this very challenging year.

Yet it is also a time to remember. To remember the Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls, those that have suffered at the hands of those that did not value who they were.

We celebrate and honour all women for the valuable roles you fulfill in taking care of our families and our community. We honour you today and every day of the year!
