Congratulations to Newly Elected Grand Chief of Mushkegowuk Council Alison Linklater

Statement from Chief Mervin Cheechoo
March 24, 2022

I would like to congratulate Alison Linklater of Taykwa Tagamou Nation on her successful campaign for election to the office of Grand Chief of Mushkegowuk Council.

I personally extended my congratulations to her this morning in a phone call. We spoke about issues of importance to Moose Cree First Nation and to those which affect all Mushkegowuk communities. I also used the opportunity to emphasize that while Moose Cree First Nation does cooperate with Mushkegowuk on a number of initiatives, that we have our own goals and priorities that Mushkegowuk must be mindful of as we move forward together.

I look forward to discussing these and other issues with her in the months ahead.

Once again, and on behalf of Council, congratulations to Alison Linklater.
