Water Plant Shutdown

UPDATE

Date: Tuesday, May 21, 2019

A scheduled shut down will be needed again on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, to permanently fix the leak on Centre Road.

Date: Wednesday, May 16, 2019

A scheduled shutdown will be needed on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 7:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm to locate the water line break.

In the interest of protecting public health, a BOIL WATER ADVISORY will be issued once service is restored, effective immediately. Please note, water line repairs may cause discoloured water. Once service is restored, run your cold water until it is clear.

Because of the transportation of samples to the lab and the length of time required to test the samples, the boil water advisory is expected to last anywhere from 5 to 6 business days. We will notify the residents when the boil water advisory has been lifted.

A boil water advisory means that people who take their water from the communal supply system should follow the advice of Porcupine Health Unit:

http://www.porcupinehu.on.ca/en/your-community/safe-water/boil-water-advisories/

An alternate source of drinking water is made available to you at the water plant. Hours of operation are from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please bring your own clean container.

For more information contact:

Environmental Health Officer: Amina Ibrahim at 705-360-4118
Porcupine Health Unit at 800-461-1818
Moose Factory Water Plant at 705-658-2034

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Kind regards,
Ontario Clean Water Agency
