Water Conservation Notice
Monday, July 13, 2020

Area Affected: Moose Factory

A decrease in water pressure will begin Monday, July 13, 2020 from 8:00 P.M to 6:00 A.M, Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

Over the weekend the water plant has experienced some issues that have resulted in much lower than usual amounts of water being produced resulting in a depleted reservoir. Conserving water yesterday has helped immensely to restore level but they are not quite at normal levels.

The Water Plant Operators have determined that water conservation will again be needed at this time. To ensure sufficient water reserves for both the community and firefighting purposes, the pressure will need to be decreased beginning today at 8:00 pm to allow the reservoir levels to build up. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

At this time it is necessary to try to prevent a system wide loss of pressure and associated boil water advisory.

Please note that the issues have not affected the water quality.

Please check for updates on Moose Cree First Nation’s website, or local bulletin boards or you may contact Caitlin Ayearst or Brad Stephen at the water plant at (705) 658-2034 for more information.

Kind regards,
Ontario Clean Water Agency
