Date: Thursday, July 6, 2023
Area Affected: Moose Factory Island

The water pressure is scheduled to be decreased on:
Thursday, July 6 from 8:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M.

The need to decrease the water will be reassessed tomorrow.

The water plant is experiencing a higher than usual water demand and unfortunately, the water plant cannot produce enough water to keep up.

The Water Plant Operators have determined that water conservation will be needed at this time. To ensure sufficient water reserves for both the community and firefighting purposes, the pressure will need to be decreased to allow the reservoir levels to build up.

Please note that the water quality has not been affected.

We need your support conserving water because it is a crucial part of the strategy to keep this temporary situation as short as possible for the safety of consumers and fire protection. At this time, we ask that you do not wash vehicles; water lawns and gardens, etc.; run sprinklers or allow water to run for long periods of time for any reason.

Please check Moose Cree First Nation’s Website or Facebook page for any further updates. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

If you suspect a leak or detect a water leak, please call either:

URGENT WATER CONSERVATION NOTICE

Date: Wednesday, July 5th, 2023
Area affected: Moose Factory Island

Yesterday, one-third of the storage tank was used, draining the tank to less than 50%. Despite the plant running 24 hours a day, it cannot produce enough water overnight to restore the levels.

At this time, we ask that you do not wash vehicles; water lawns and gardens, etc.; run sprinklers or allow water to run for long periods of time for any reason.

The water pressure is scheduled to be decreased on:
Wednesday, July 5th from 8:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M.

However, if the reserves become too low the water may be drastically increased ahead of schedule to prevent running out of water completely.

Water Conservation Notice

Date: Tuesday, July 4th, 2023
Area affected: Moose Factory Island

The water pressure is scheduled to be decreased on:
Tuesday, July 4th @ 9:00 P.M. to Wednesday, July 5th @ 6:00 A.M.

The need to decrease the water will be reassessed tomorrow.

Because of the hot weather, the water plant is experiencing a higher than usual water demand as people run sprinklers and fill up pools. Unfortunately, the water plant cannot produce enough water to keep up.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause

Kind regards,
Ontario Clean Water Agency
