Membership Info Session & Brunch

Saturday, August 20th, 2022
11 am @ the E.P.R. Centre and on Zoom

Update on the MCFN Response to WAHA’s plans for the new hospital in Moosonee and Health Facility in Moose Factory.

From Chief Mervin Cheechoo:

I am inviting the Moose Cree First Nation Membership to an information session hosted by the Health Transformation Advisory Working Group (“HTAWG”) on August 20, 2022, at 11:00 am at the EPR Centre. There will also be an option to join by Zoom.

The meeting will start with a brunch and we will be providing an update to Membership on Moose Cree’s feedback, to date, on the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority’s (“WAHA’s”) plans for the new health facilities on the Island and in Moosonee.

Two documents will be presented that provide more information about the initial comments and questions that the HTAWG has provided to WAHA, Ontario and Canada to date, and their responses:

1. MCFN Preliminary Review and Feedback on WAHA’s Functional Plan” that was shared with WAHA and Ontario/Canada on June 20, 2022.

2. Analysis of Moose Cree First Nation Preliminary Feedback on Functional Program” that was sent to MCFN from Ontario on August 3, 2022.

Also available is a draft “schematic blueprint/plan” for what the layout of the health facility on Moose Factory Island might look like, this was sent to MCFN from Ontario on August 11, 2022.

We want to hear from you about what the health and well-being needs are of our community so that we can continue to advocate for health facilities and services that meet our needs, now and into the future.

If you would like the Zoom link or to receive the schematic blueprint please send an email to Jeff at .

I hope to see you at the information session at the EPR or on Zoom!

Meegwetch,

Chief Mervin Cheechoo
Moose Cree First Nation
