National Nurses Week is held annually and is an opportunity for us to acknowledge and thank the dedicated nurses for the services they provide to us every day. This year, as we are in the midst of a pandemic, the important role they play for all of us becomes even more apparent.
Moose Cree First Nation and the entire community of Moose Factory is fortunate to have many excellent nurses from our community and elsewhere that provide services at the Moose Cree Health Centre and through the Moose Cree Home Care Program, and at the Weeneebayko General Hospital. These health care professionals are the backbone of our local heath care system and they are out there every day battling at the frontlines to keep us and our loved ones healthy and safe.
It is also the nurses that are leading the work of the Moose Factory Pandemic Emergency Operations Team as we develop strategies to keep COVID-19 out of our community and as we further develop the plans to respond effectively should there be an outbreak in Moose Factory.
A comment directly to our nurses, we are grateful for all the work that you do for us and while we may not see every struggle and hardship that you endure, particularly during these difficult days, please know that we all stand with you and support you.
So as National Nurses Week draws to a close, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our nurses on behalf of the Council and the Membership of Moose Cree First Nation.
