Roy Little Chief Passes Away at Age 81

At the request of the family, Chief Mervin Cheechoo is announcing the passing of Roy Little Chief at age 81 at Siksika First Nation in Alberta. He was the husband of Linda Cheechoo, Moose Cree First Nation member and a son-in-law to the late former Moose Cree Chief Sinclair Cheechoo.

Roy Little Chief, a former Chief of the Siksika First Nation was a prominent voice for Indigenous rights for more than 60 sixty years and was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 for his work towards improving the lives of First Nations people and communities across Canada.

Chief & Council extends their condolences to Linda and the Cheechoo and Little Chief families.
