Distribution Repair Update

At about 10:15 am this morning, because of a distribution line issue, there was high demand for water. This caused the fire pumps to start up, disturbing sediment that is normally found in the water mains. This resulted in discoloured water throughout the island. Please let the cold water run until clear.
Because the section of Bay Street between the intersections of Bay Street and Centre Road and Bay Street and North Street was so quickly isolated from the rest of the distribution system, there is no suspected threat to public health. However, this section remains isolated, and remains without water, until repairs can be made tomorrow. A boil water advisory will be issued to the affected area after repairs have been made.
