Two leaks have been located and are being repaired by public works. An attempt will be made to increase water pressure from 5-7 pm this evening to allow for cooking, cleaning, etc.

Area affected: Moose Factory, Ontario
Water Conservation Notice
A decrease in water pressure will begin immediately and will continue until further notice. This is necessary as reservoir levels are critically low.
The water plant has experienced a higher than usual water demand and has been unable to make water faster than it is being used, which is resulting in a depleted reservoir. Moose Cree First Nation’s Public Works department is looking into potential leaks.
The water plant operators have determined that water conservation will again be needed at this time. To ensure sufficient water reserves for both the community and firefighting purposes, the pressure will need to be decreased beginning later today to allow the reservoir levels to build up.
Please note that the issues have not affected the water quality.
We need your support conserving water because it is a crucial part of the strategy to keep this temporary situation as short as possible for the safety of consumers and fire protection.

Boil Water Advisory Issued
In the interest of protecting public health, a precautionary Boil Water Advisory is being issued, effective immediately. The Boil Water Advisory is being issued due to the reduced water pressure experienced on the island.
The water pressure has been further reduced because the water plant is unable to make water until the leaks are found and repaired. The reservoirs have depleted to less than 25% and are not able to provide water for firefighting purposes.
The Boil Water advisory will be in effect until sampling indicates that the water is safe to drink (approximately 3-4 days after repairs). You will be notified when the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.
A Boil Water Advisory means that people who take their water from the communal system should follow the advice in the fact sheet from the Porcupine Health Unit, called “How to use water safely during a boil water advisory’’.
If you prefer not to boil your water, an alternate source of drinking water is still being made available to you at the Water Plant. Please call 705-658-2034 from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Please bring your own clean container.
