Updated: Wednesday, October 20, 2021

A precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been issued for parts of Moose Factory Island due to a temporary shut off of the water supply for the purpose of hydrant repairs. This advisory is effective immediately after your water is restored.

Areas affected:

  • 1 – 7 Achmist Street
  • 1 – 16 Libbeaus Beck Street
  • 1 – 8 Otter Head Drive

The Boil Water advisory will remain in effect until sampling indicates that the water is safe to drink. Please note, because of the transportation of samples to the lab and the length of time required to test the samples, the Boil Water Advisory is expected to last anywhere from 5 to 6 business days. We will notify the residents when the boil water advisory has been lifted.

A Boil Water Advisory means that people who take their water from the communal system should follow the advice in the fact sheet from the Porcupine Health Unit, called “How to use water safely during a boil water advisory’’.

If you prefer not to boil your water, an alternate source of drinking water is made available to you at the Water Plant. Please bring your own clean container.

For more information on Boil Water Advisories contact:

Moose Factory Water Plant at 705-658-2034
Porcupine Health Unit at 800-461-1818

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Kind regards,
Ontario Clean Water Agency
