Boil Water Advisory Issued

BOIL WATER ADVISORY ISSUED

Area affected: Entire community of Moose Factory Island

In the interest of protecting public health, a precautionary ‘Boil Water Advisory’ is being issued, effective immediately. The ‘Boil Water Advisory’ is being issued because of the watermain / hydrant leak this morning causing loss of water throughout the island.

The Boil Water advisory will be in effect until sampling indicates that the water is safe to drink (approximately 3-4 days after repairs). Please note, you will be notified when the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.

A Boil Water Advisory means that people who take their water from the communal system should follow the advice in the fact sheet from the Porcupine Health Unit, called ‘How to use water safely during a “boil water advisory“.
