Date: Sunday, November 13th, 2022
Area Affected: Entire community of Moose Factory Island

In the interest of protecting public health, a precautionary Boil Water Advisory is being issued, effective immediately. The Boil Water Advisory is being issued because physical issues at the plant have compromised disinfection.

The Boil Water advisory will be in effect until sampling indicates that the water is safe to drink (approximately 3-4 days after the issue has been resolved). Please note, you will be notified when the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.

A Boil Water Advisory means that people who take their water from the communal system should follow the advice in the fact sheet from the Porcupine Health Unit, called ‘How to use water safely during a “boil water advisory’’.

For more information on Boil Water Advisories contact:

Indigenous Services Canada at 855-470-2676
Porcupine Health Unit at 800-461-1818

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Kind regards,
Ontario Clean Water Agency
