Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc. (WETT) Training Course
Part 1: Code Compliance
March 2nd – 6th, 2020
8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Daily
Fort Albany Community Hall, Fort Albany, ON
Trainer: Henry Nagtegaal, Winnipeg Chimney
This training course provides information about wood heating (woodstoves) technology and the regulations to safely install and maintain woodstoves. The course is five days long and is part one of three training sessions. This training will help participants learn more about fire safety and prevention as it relates to woodstoves and chimneys.
Participants will learn:
- Introduction to wood heating (wood stoves) technology
- Regulations for safe installation and inspection of wood stoves (clearances, shielding systems, and flue pipe installations)
- Regulations about maintaining safe chimneys and venting
Two (2) spots will be reserved for each Mushkegowuk community. Those interested in housing and/or woodstove installations are encouraged to attend. Travel is provided to Moose Cree participants.
