Request for Proposals: Health Renewal Negotiator / Senior Government Policy Analyst

Moose Cree First Nation (“MCFN”) would like to invite qualified candidates to submit a proposal to MCFN for the position of “Health Renewal Negotiator/Senior Government Policy Analyst”.

The successful candidate will report to and take ultimate direction from MCFN Chief and Council. In addition, ongoing reporting and check-ins with the Executive Director, the Health Renewal Coordinator and the MCFN Health Transformation Advisory Working Group are required.

The primary responsibility of the successful candidate is to provide strategic advice, policy analysis and intergovernmental leadership on a wide range of matters related to implementation of MCFN’s new Health Renewal Strategy – “A Treaty-based approach to Health Transformation”, including discussions and negotiations with representatives of the Ontario and Canadian governments.

Candidates must possess the following:

  • Must be a strong negotiator and facilitator with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Expert knowledge regarding federal and provincial funders in the health sector
  • Expert knowledge regarding health service providers in the region
  • A demonstrated knowledge about health issues in the region
  • A demonstrated knowledge of and experience with First Nations and the health system

Contract Duration: Early January 2020 to March 31, 2020, with possibility of extension.

Time commitment: Part-time, with an average of 21 hours per week. However, due to the nature of the work, there may be instances where the time commitment varies.

Consultants interested in being considered must submit a proposal.

Proposals are due on or before Friday, January 3rd, 2019 at 4 pm.
