The 31st Annual Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund (NADF) Awards were held at the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay, Ontario, homeland of Fort William First Nation, on Friday, March 24th, 2023.
The awards gala showcases Northern Ontario’s Aboriginal business community and celebrates the determination and perseverance of individuals and businesses that continue to bolster the economy under these very challenging times.
A new category was introduced this year – Excellence in Community Planning – to recognize the First Nation communities and their CCP Coordinators who have worked tirelessly in engaging their community members to develop Comprehensive Community Plans for the future of their members. Three communities, including Moose Cree First Nation, were recognized for their work in community planning.

Linda Trudeau was present at the gala to accept the award, as she was the Comprehensive Community Planning Coordinator at the time the community plan was developed. On behalf of Moose Cree Chief & Council, our staff, and community, we congratulate Linda and the entire CCP team for the extensive work they did to complete the CCP plan, community report, and framework. We would also like to thank the NADF for their recognition of this accomplishment.
