Animal Control Officer

Job Location: Moose Factory, Ontario

 

Position Summary:

The Animal Control Officer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of providing protection to animal welfare within the community of Moose Factory. This position is integral to protecting the community members, the animals, both domestic and non-domestic, and assisting all authorities such as Police, Fire fighters, and external pet agencies as required.

This position is for the entire community of Moose Factory Island and will liaison with off-reserve organizations in assisting them in Animal Control Measures on an as needed basis.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. High school diploma preferred
  2. Training in Animal Control handling preferred
  3. How to capture animals safely and handle them with care and diligence
  4. Physically capable of handling large animals namely dogs
  5. Ability to work under minimal supervision
  6. Valid Class G or G2 Driver’s License Required
  7. First Aid and CPR Preferred
  8. Copy of diplomas/certificates/licenses to accompany resume

 

Salary: $42,900.00 – $54,346.50

Duration: Permanent with 3-months probation
