Maintenance Supervisor

Job Location: Moose Cree First Nation, Moose Factory, Ontario

 

Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Housing, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all maintenance and repair activities for the Moose Cree First Nation Housing Department. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures all operations are conducted in a respectful, timely and responsible manner, and all decisions and actions comply with the relevant policies, procedures and legislation.

 

Qualifications, Abilities, and Characteristics:

  1. A minimum three (3) year work experience in construction or maintenance field and/or First Nation housing or related sector.
  2. Knowledge of housing programs and building codes.
  3. Understanding and practical application of mechanical, plumbing and electrical principles.
  4. Ability to estimate and control job costs.
  5. Knowledge and experience in financial management.
  6. Experience in supervisory and leadership skills.
  7. Ability to work under minimum supervision and meet deadlines.
  8. Demonstrate initiative, responsibility and leadership.
  9. Strong planning, organizational and decision making skills.
  10. Strong analytical and organization skills.
  11. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  12. Strong knowledge and skills of computer application programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet).
  13. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  14. Ability to communicate in Cree language is an asset.
  15. Valid Class “G” drivers licence.
  16. Must submit a satisfactory C.P.I.C. with resume.

Salary: Negotiable    Duration: Permanent with 6 months’ probation
