Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Health & Wellness Coordinator, the Family Well-Being Worker will collaborate with families to understand their individual needs and challenges, offering personalized support to foster a strong foundation for well-being. The primary objective is to strengthen family bonds, enhance parenting skills, and promote overall well-being through culturally sensitive programs and activities that emphasize connections with the land.



  1. Bachelor or Diploma in Social Work or Mental Health & addictions diploma or a related field and experience is preferred.

  2. Minimum of 2 years of counselling experience for children, youth, and families and working withinFirst Nations

  3. Land-based healing and therapy practices.

  4. Ability to build trust and rapport with families and maintain confidentiality.

  5. Empathy and understanding of diverse family dynamics.

  6. Knowledge of child development, parenting strategies, and family systems.

  7. Familiarity with community resources and services.

  8. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

  9. Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.

  10. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  11. Cultural competence and sensitivity.

  12. Understanding of historical trauma.

  13. Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and restorative approaches.

  14. Mental Health First Aide First Nations Certification, BLSC and First Aid preferred or willing to obtainwithin 6 months of employment.

  15. Must provide a recent satisfactory C.P.I.C with resume or proof of application.

  16. G Class Driver’s License required.


Salary: $48,750.00 – $61,756.50


Duration: Permanent with 3 months probation
