POSITION:

Personal Support Worker

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Home & Community Care Coordinator, the Personal Support Worker will provide a comprehensive social service to assist the Elderly and people with physical disabilities. The incumbent will assist the chronically ill members of our community with their activities of daily living and provide non-medical support case services.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Personal Attendant with intent to be certified as PSW or Personal Support certificate
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in the health care field
  • Demonstrated leadership and organization skills
  • Proven interpersonal skills and work as a team player
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak and understand the Cree language an asset
  • Must be in good health and physically fit
  • Work 8 hours per day and maybe required to work flexible hours
  • Class “G” drivers license an asset
  • To provide a C.P.I.C. with resume at applicant’s own expense
  • Copy of certificates and diplomas to accompany resume

SALARY:

As per salary grid plus good benefits

DURATION:

Permanent position with six month probationary period
