POSITION:
Community Health Nurse
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Community Health Coordinator, the Community Health Nurse shall assist with the planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating of community health programs of Moose Factory Health Centre. He/she shall play an active role in the promotion of health and wellness throughout the community.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a Nursing Degree or a Nursing Diploma may be accepted with an additional diploma/certificate in Public Health or Community Health Nursing from an approved institute (or willing to obtain)
- Must have current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Registered Nurses of Ontario with Legal Assistance Program
- Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
- Must become certified in Venipuncture and Immunization programs within one month of hiring
- Have up-to-date First Aid and CPR certification, yearly and thereafter
- Ability to exercise tact, discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal skills, planning skills and function as a team member
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge and use of computer programs
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
- Ability to speak the Cree language is an asset
- Must provide a CPIC with resume at applicant’s own expense
- Copy of diplomas/degrees/certificates to accompany resume
SALARY:
As per salary grid plus an incentive & education allowance and excellent employee benefits
DURATION:
Permanent position with six month probationary period
