Pre-European Contact
There were many different kinds of dwellings used by the Cree People before
European contact. The CCIC has a variety of exhibits that show how these homes
looked when our ancestors lived in them long ago. Some of these dwellings are
the traditional Shaptwan, Askigan, and the Wigwam. They are very unique homes
that originated from the Cree People of the James Bay area.
